Our ‘Student Leaders’ opportunities are designed to help students develop a sense of themselves and to gain useful leadership skills early, prior to attending University, apprenticeships or employment. As a 6th Form team, we ask our students to inspire us and the leadership programme is a great opportunity for them to do exactly that. Leadership positions are advertised within the enrichment booklet; they can apply to these by approaching their PPT and giving a small statement as to why they would be suitable for the role. PPTs will then discuss this with the role’s staff lead who will then decide whether they are an appropriate candidate.

Graduation Club Leader

Provide support and leadership to Year 7 Graduation Clubs.

Library Leader

Assist in managing library systems, with the marketing and organising competitions.

Sports Leader

Plan and deliver sports clubs. Organise and run sports days.

Student Ambassador

Represent 6th Form students at events and with prospective students, parents and other stakeholders.

Environmental Leader

Raise the profile of environmental practices. Encourage student mindfulness of being eco-friendly.

Well-being Ambassador

Offer peer-to-peer support to maintain mental health and create strong relationships among students.

Work Experience

In addition, or as an alternative to the above enrichment opportunities, students are encouraged to do work experience to help develop their confidence and ‘work ready’ skills. This needs to be voluntary, such as helping in a charity shop, nursery, care placement or NHS. It also needs to take place when students are not in timetabled lessons. If students need help, with either identifying suitable placements or preparing a CV or application, PPTs are always on hand to assist.
